I am deeply saddened by the current climate of healthcare. We are seeing rising costs in overhead (rent, payroll that’s a living wage, supplies, and pass-through fees from other companies we are required to maintain contracts with by law). There have been no changes to reimbursement from insurance companies in the entirety of the time that we’ve been open in over three years. It can take an insurance company up to 90 days to provide payment from the date of a service. This model is not sustainable for healthcare small businesses who rely on consistency in cash flow to continue to provide quality care.
Patients are seeing rising premiums as well. These increased premiums are not being passed through effectively to smaller businesses. In some instances, premiums and deductibles have risen so high that it is 20% of a family’s household income to maintain an insurance plan. This is simply not safe. Families are having to choose between seeking quality healthcare or feeding their children.
In an effort to create a sustainable healthcare environment and to be able to provide the quality of care that Katherine believes in, we simply cannot ethically be a part of this system. As a result, effective February 2nd, 2026, we will no longer take any form of healthcare insurance at Grace Vitale Wellness. We will be transitioning to a Direct Primary Care model where individuals and families can pay for the level of quality care that they need without breaking the bank.
Through cash-pay memberships (direct primary care), we will be able to create a sustainable business model so that our doors can remain open and we can continue to do what we love - serve our community and make them feel the best in health over time.
We understand that this is not feasible for everyone, and for that we are sorry. We are happy to provide recommendations for other primary care providers in DFW that take insurance.
With that said, we would love to continue to serve each and every one of you.
Our specific model and pricing will be released in the coming weeks for your consideration.
